Welcome to The Art of Retail.  My name is Abe Safa and my intention is to stimulate the minds of retailers and spark conversations that will help transform the retail industry.

I have been in the retail business for over 25 years.  In the span of my career I have worked  in every retail position imaginable.  I have not only held positions in sales, but have opened and been involved in numerous businesses with great success.  Among them is one of my current companies, Vanity Accessory Boutique, which I co-founded in 2004.  By 2007, Vanity had grown to 7 boutiques and will continue it’s growth in the years to come.

The word “expert” has been thrown around too loosely these days, therefore I do not consider myself an “expert” in retail, I do however consider myself “very experienced” and I am constantly evolving and experiencing new concepts in the exciting world of retail.  I pride myself on being a lifetime learner and feel that one can never learn enough.

Unfortunately, retail for the most part has become very bland and generic.  Many stores are starting to look the same, sell the same items and provide an unmemorable customer experience.  Although the majority of retailers are this way, there are some that do a superb job in creating a great customer experience.  Creating new concepts and customer experiences is an area I feel very passionate about.

I created this blog  in order to share my current and any new-found knowledge and experience in the hopes that I can help bring back uniqueness and excitement to retail and to start a conversation that will enhance the retail experience for both the consumer and the entrepreneur.   Please feel free to ask any questions or ask for any help.  I am always willing to share whatever I can to help and contribute to others.
